These pictures are an assortment of various shops where I saw some pretty Christmas windows. A few were very modern and caught my eye. Some have a lovely vintage feel to them and that is why I particularly liked them. I also included a few pictures of some Christmas decorations I saw walking around the West Village. I thought the decorations there were especially beautiful since they were attached to old brownstones built in the early 1900’s. Some of the pictures are ones that I took at night. This is a new thing for me, taking photos at night but it is fun to explore.
Lord and Taylor’s had a variety of modern taxidermy figures in their windows. Birds seemed to be quite a popular theme in various shop windows. Geminola had a lovely window in their shop, filled with red holiday vintage clothing. Michal Negrin in Soho has lovely vintage inspired windows filled with their clothing and jewelry designs, plus colorful figures in various little scenes. It was as if one was gazing through a different time.

Hi Danny. Well I would say try to keep notes on your ideas for posts. I am still learning but it helps to write down inspiration when it hits you! It takes time to create posts and post pictures. I think it helps to focus on different aspects on certain days. In terms of the writing I try to go sit undisturbed and gather all the information together. I think it is better to keep the post engaging and original. Sometimes that means the post is briefer than others. I have gotten compliments on thinking up original ideas. Don’t try to copy other bloggers. They, as a collective group, can teach us the norms of blogging. It is is best to be yourself and let that shine through! Good luck.

Hi. I tried to email you but it didn’t go through. I use Bluehost and askimet for catching spam. I think Bluehost sets it up so you can read comments prior to them posting. I also have found askimet to be very good. There is free askimet, what I have and if you get a lot of traffic I’d pay for the upgrade of it. Good luck!!! I do get some spam. Not a huge amount. After it is caught I just delete it. I hope you get this since my email didn’t get through.

Hi. I don’t know of which widget works for that. I haven’t been tweeting, although it would most likely help. I’d say refer to youtube since it is the free library of suggestions on these things. I find youtube to be of valuable assistance on running my blog. I have the TD Persona theme so if allows followers to tweet my blog post if they so choose.

I saw that in windows explorer it isn’t loading right. It looks fine on fire fox. I loaded it on fire fox. I wouldn’t have a clue as how to change the way it loads in windows explorer.

I have watched Court Tuttle’s videos and that helps. He said you have to take out other people’s URL in the comments since that is spam that can mess with the blog. I use akismet to catch spam but still you must edit comments. Some browsers are better than others. Mine is fine in firefox too but spam can mess up your blog.
